Growing hard vegetables requires lots of space and at least 8 hours of direct sunlight. If you’ve got those two things in abundance then give some of these a try.
Our collection of "assorted veggies" contains all of the hard vegetable varieties that we know grow well in South Florida. If you haven't seen it in our tomato, pepper or assorted veggies collections then we don't recommend growing it. Staple crops like corn, potatoes & garlic might be common in home gardens all over America but not in our climate.
Fall is the perfect time of year to plant some of these longer season crops. Don’t forget that our seasons here in South Florida are reversed from the rest of the country. Plants need lots of energy, which they get in the form of sunlight and soil-based nutrients, in order to make hard vegetables like these so keep that in mind when choosing what varieties will do best in your unique growing conditions.
